Consults are generally available for many conditions including:

• cold and flu
• Covid
• sinus-related conditions
• fever
• sore throat
• migraine
• contraceptive enquiries
• urinary tract infection
• diarrhoea
• rash
• stomach ache
• health advice or reassurance if you are experiencing concerning symptoms

For ongoing management of pre-existing illness and chronic conditions, it is advisable to continue to see your regular doctor.

Amplar Health Online Doctor is not for emergencies. In an emergency, call 000 or head to your nearest Emergency Department.

Amplar Health Online Doctor is not an emergency service. For medical emergencies, call 000 right away or visit your local emergency department.


In addition, our doctors cannot:

• Backdate medical certificates


Our doctors cannot issue or sign:

• ‘Fit for Work’ certificates
• Centrelink certificates
• University Forms
• Workcover certificates


Some medications cannot be prescribed through Amplar Health Online Doctor.

• Schedule 8 controlled drugs or drugs of addiction will not be prescribed.
• Schedule 4D drugs with the potential to cause harm or be misused will not be prescribed.

Currently, only the Policy Holder (the person responsible for the Policy) can book consults for dependants.

If you’re a Partner and would like to arrange consults for dependants under 16, your account will need to be authorised.

To arrange this, the Policy Holder can complete this Authority Form or call us on 1300 497 462.

Until 1 March 2026, eligible members^{^} can book an online doctor consult with Amplar Health as part of a new pilot program. There are no out-of-pocket fees on up to 3 consults during this time.

Amplar Health Online Doctor is being made available until 1 March 2026. At its discretion, Medibank may extend the offering beyond this date.

1. Choose who the consult is for
   Select yourself or someone else on your Policy.

   
   
2. Create or review the Amplar Health patient profile

   
   
3. Book your appointment

   Pick a time and choose either a video or phone consult.
   
   
4. Check your confirmation SMS

   You’ll get a text with the appointment details. If it's a video call, the link to join will be included.
   
   
5. Join your consultation
   Video call: Click the link to join the waiting room.
   Phone call: The doctor will call you at the scheduled time. 

   
   
6. Get any follow-up info 

   The doctor may send documents by email or SMS during or after your consult.

Until 1 March 2026, eligible Medibank members have access to up to 3 consultations with no out-of-pocket fees. If you require additional consultations during this time, you may be subject to out-of-pocket fees, which will be advised to you prior to finalising your booking.
